Research indicates that the acute hospitalisation for management of exacerbations of chronic disease can have various effects on the psychological emotional and physical wellbeing of the patient and their family. It is critical that nurses under stand these influences and implement appropriate strategies to support both patient and family cope during this stressful period.
This assignment will ask you to examine other impacts not only related to physical problems but other psychosocial factors that can affect both patients and family’s acute care admission. Supporting them cope with these challenges form the Holistic care that falls within the nurses scope of practice
