The aim of this unit is to support and challenge final year students to comprehend the clinical leadership expectations and opportunities in their professional role, with reference to leadership in their discipline, the multi disciplinary team and the wider health care environment.

This assessment is composed of Three Original Posts and Three Response Posts (total 6 posts). You will write a post to address the set topic for each of the 3 forums You are required to engage in the discussion by posting an original post to the topic/questions for forum 1 topic from modules 1 & 2 forum 2 topic from modules 3 & 4 and forum 3 topic from modules 5 &6. You will also write a response post to another students original post on the set topic for each of the 3 forums.
Assessment Task-Topics :-
Forum 1 (Post 1). Clinical leadership is not an important consideration to a graduate RN. It is more important to increase my confidence and improve my clinical skills to be a competent clinician. Critically reflect and discuss in your first online post ensure you support your point of view with contemporary literature Modules 1 & 2. (LO2)
Forum 2 (Post 2). Autonomy and accountability are inherent to nursing as a profession How do these professional expectations related to leadership qualities enable the RNs practice? Critically reflect and discuss this for your second online post ensure you support your point of view with contemporary literature Modules 3 & 4. (LO4).
Forum 3 (Post 3). What elements enable and enhance positive change and innovation in the health care environment should I be contributing to as a graduate RN? Critically reflect and discuss this for your third online post ensure you support your point of view with contemporary literature) Modules 5 & 6. (LO5)
Response Posts to Forums (posts 4,5,6):
You will also respond in each of the discussion forums to posts made by a peer(s).
Each of your original posts has a word limit of 150 words and each of your response posts has a word limit of 100 words (+/- 10%). Your posts and your responses are required to completed and posted to the forums by the due date. All posts (3+3) must then be submitted as one collated word document to enable the provision of feed back to the Turnitin drop box.Your submission needs to be in one word document of your original posts and response posts including references AND you will also need to submit screenshot evidence of all your forum posts in their entirety as a part of the document submitted to turnitin by the due date.
Purpose :
Through online discussion forums this assessment facilitates student engagement and showcases sound written communication skills where the focus is on leadership in nursing and health care. This will enable students to explore leadership expectations and opportunities within the role of the RN in health care.

How to submit :-
1.Students must submit their original posts to each of the topics for each of the 3 forums by the due date;
2. Students must submit their response posts to a peer(s) post in each of the topics for the 3 forums by the due date;
3.Submit one collated word document of all responses (original [3] and response to peer posts [3]) to the relevant Turnitin drop box in your campus tile. You must also include in this collated document screen shot evidence of each entire post and response post (ie screen shots of 6 posts) and submit all in 1 word document via Turnitin on LEO. Please note that you can upload multiple submissions to the Turnitin dropbox, up until the due date and time for the assessment (there can be a 24-48 hour lock out period between each submission.
