Aim of the Assessment :-
This assessment asks students to develop a beginning understanding of what life is like for people who experience mental illness with particular reference to the profile and burden of the a mental illness and the contribution nurses and midwives make to the person using the Recovery framework.

– The student also has the opportunity to research a current Australian service that seeks to improve care and reduce the impact of the mental illness.
– The student will also have the opportunity to develop their oral communication skills which is an essential skill for nurses and midwives’ involved in mental healthcare. –

Task :-
Each student is required to choose a topic from the list below and follow the instructions to produce a script of 1200 words no citations in the script required include 5-7 references on APA 7 th style at the end of the script using no more than five [6] Power Point slides including one power point slide with references. No script on the PowerPoint eg images and interesting facts can be written to attract audience. No offensive or disturbing pictures can be used in power point.

Instructions :-
1. A clear introduction to the aim of the presentation.
2. A statement about the incidence of the mental health issue you are focussing on in Australia.
3. An overview of the challenges that a person living with this condition may face – this will provide back ground information about how the person may present to services the symptoms they may complain of and how these symptoms affect their daily life.
4. A description of relevant Recovery focussed nursing interventions to assess the needs of the person and assist the person and their family to understand the condition and develop effective strategies to support the person’s recovery.
5. An outline one current Australian service initiative designed to improve care and reduce the impact of this health condition.
