The aim of the assessment is for you to demonstrate your ability to adapt/develop a culturally sensitive intervention for your client group critically applying your knowledge of individual social and cultural diversity to clinical practice.
Your critical discussion of the relevant research scholarly literature might include cultural or diversity considerations adaptations to cognitive-behavioural models process issues issues relating to the therapeutic alliance and/or contextual or systemic factors. Enough detail should be provided so that it is clear how the evidence-based intervention has been adapted and what are the diversity considerations but a session by session treatment plan is not required.
Secondly you will also be required to demonstrate an ability to reflect on your own attitudes values and beliefs and how this informs clinical practice as well as what issues psychologists need to consider in therapeutic interventions when working with clients from diverse cultures and/or back grounds. Your discussion here could include, issues related to engagement and the therapeutic alliance issues of diversity and difference how psychologist can be more culturally competent and the potential impact of micro aggressions on the therapeutic relationship.
