Case study
Problem Statement

Your organisation has organised Art Fest for the students and outsiders to highlight their creative ambition and drive and to give them a chance to showcase their creativity, hard work and inspiration. The creative Art and Design department is organising The brand Identity and Logo Design creation’ event for aspirants in the fest.

You are participating as graphic designer in the event. You are required to design and develop innovative animated logo that is ‘market-ready’ at a professional level. Along with fonts and colours, logos are central to brand identity, requiring a unique selection and arrangement of colours shapes and designs that will be used to represent the brand. You are required to select appropriate materials, resources and equipment required to produce design.

To do so you are required to develop a product concept that considers target market purpose technical feasibility, cost, timeframes and legislative requirements. You are required to develop a plan to realise a logo design solution and then implement, monitor and evaluate design realisation for logo design.

Organisational Requirements
The basic requirement of the organisation is to design and develop innovative products and creative works that are ‘market-ready’ at a professional level such as:

 The logo must be related to organisation only.
 The logo should be coloured and smooth colour choices should be done.
 The design must be unique and catch attention of the viewers and retain the interest of the viewer.
 The design should be legible at all sizes.
 The design should be balanced by keeping the ‘weight’ of the graphics colours and size equal on each side.
 The logo must be designed using the concepts of animations.
 The student must use the idea of motion graphics for logo animation and it must be unique for every student.
 After seeking your assessor feedback, you are required to continually refine the design until expectations are met.

System Requirements
The minimum system requirements are:
 Access to proper internet connection
 Your system should contain any internet browser either Mozilla Firefox or Google chrome or Safari compatible with HTML5
 Either Windows 10 or higher version or Linux OS with latest updates should be installed

Software Packages required
 Adobe Photoshop
 Adobe After Effects
 3ds Max (Autodesk)
 Any other of your choice

You are participating in graphic design event organised by your organisation. The management of the organisation wants you to design and develop innovative products and creative works that are ‘market-ready’ at a professional level.

Task conditions:
 The purpose of this assessment task is to design and develop innovative products and creative works that are ‘market-ready’ at a professional level.
 The student must be provided with resources, tools, materials and equipment for realisation of a design in a specific context.
 The assessment task will be completed in your training organisation Advance Computer Lab. Your trainer/assessor will supervise you in performing this assessment task.
 The student will participate in graphics designer in this assessment.

Task Environment
This assessment task will be completed in a simulated environment prepared by your training
organisation.

The simulated environment will provide you with all the required resources such as the equipment and participants, etc.) to complete the assessment task. The simulated environment is very much like a learning environment where a programmer can practice, use and operate appropriate industrial equipment, techniques, and practices under realistic workplace conditions.

The roles and responsibilities of the Graphics Designer are:
 To conceptualise a design innovation and determine potential target market
 To investigate and clarify purpose, medium, technical requirements, costs and timeframes for product
 To confirm that industry standards, intellectual property and other relevant legal requirements are met
